Hi everyone
When writing to the grocery stores, you can address your letters to Dear Sir/Madam and sign them from yourselves putting your name, school and grade at the bottom of the letter. Send the letters to Meeru at her e-mail address - meeru@vijs.ca and she will forward them to Safeways, Superstore and IGA.
Here are a few details you will need to include….
1. The bags are called Biobag and the website for more information is www.biobag.ca
2. The bags they have available are “tall kitchen bags”, “dog waste bags”, leaf and yard bags” and
“food waste bags”.
3. The bags are already available in Choices and Capers but it would be great to see them available
in the popular large grocery stores so they would be available to a lot more people.
4. We realise that the bags will be more expensive than the regular products but at least people
will have the choice if they feel strongly about the environment which many people do.
5. If there is a big enough demand for the bags the prices will eventually come down.
6. You can add whatever else you feel about the environment and how you feel buying these bags
would help.
Please pass this on to as many of your friends as you can. The more letters they receive the more likely they are to take notice.
Thanks
Anne Canning (Lewis’s mom)
